This year’s World Bank Water Week stimulated some lively debate over the role of private water operators in providing sustainable solutions. Kathy Shandling reports from Washington.

The 2007 World Bank Water Week was held in Washington DC from 27 February to 2 March, and brought together World Bank staff working in the water and sanitation sectors, as well as external stakeholders, donor organisations, NGOs and private water representatives.
