Gelsenwasser to stand firm on EU rules change

The German operator has made its stance clear in the fight to win public water and wastewater concessions.

Gelsenwasser, Germany’s second-largest water company, is unsettled by the ongoing debate in Brussels over the granting of water and wastewater concessions. Up until now, the company has been able to acquire or extend water, wastewater and gas concessions without having to go through a tendering procedure before the contract is awarded.
