Municipal utilities qualify for Riyadh contract

Saudi Arabia is looking for expertise rather than money. It has proved an interesting proposition for outward-looking municipal utilities.

Nine consortia have prequalified for the six-year Riyadh water management contract in Saudi Arabia. The list illustrates the new geography of the global water industry: five of the nine groups include water companies under municipal control.
