Doughty Hanson snaps up Norit for new €3 billion private equity fund

Doughty Hanson looks to have pipped trade buyers to the post in the Norit bidding war. It is not the first time the firm has taken exposure to the water sector.
It looks as if Dutch water treatment specialist Norit will stay in private equity hands, after European powerhouse Doughty Hanson weighed in with the winning bid last month. The intention is to hold Norit in the new Doughty Hanson Fund V, which closed on 4th May with total commitments of €3 billion.
