Linking the Red Sea and the Dead Sea may bring peace, but the country is also looking to defend against terrorism.
Israel’s vice premier Shimon Peres has called for the establishment of a state-owned Israeli company to oversee the ambitious Peace Valley project.
The concept involves the construction of a 180 kilometre long network of canals and tunnels on the Jordanian side of the Israel- Jordan border, and also includes a series of desalination and power plants.
