* It looks like Norit squeezed a spectacular price from private equity investor Doughty Hanson for a majority stake in the Dutch filtration company (see story p18)
The evidence suggests that the business was valued at more than €650 million, against expected revenues of around €370 million in 2007. The price is a vote of confidence in the outlook for Norit’s X-Flow division, which specializes in ultrafiltration membranes for seawater desalination pre-treatment and membrane bio-reactors.
