* It seems Suez has finally seen the light, and decided that the only way forward is to spin off its environmental activities.
The move was announced as part of the final GdF-Suez merger package, which foresees a provisional IPO in 2008. The fact that the French State will hold at least 35% of GdF Suez, which will in turn hold 35% of Suez’s demerged environment business, smacks more of ‘fraternité’ than ‘liberté’, and the spun-off Suez Environment will be further protected ...
