* There are certainly plenty of new desalination opportunities to whet the appetite, as an increasing number of large cities wake up to the fact that they need a climate-proof element in their water supply strategies.
Adelaide has outlined plans for a 137,000m3/d SWRO facility, which could be doubled in size in the future (see Desalination Tracker p37). Istanbul, meanwhile, is looking to install up to 350,000m3/d of capacity as dam levels in Turkey continue to fall.
