The Brazilian construction company continues to make further inroads into the water sector, taking over the Mauá concession, and deftly reneging a stalled PPP.

Odebrecht Engenharia Ambiental (OEM) has further cemented its position in the fledgling Brazilian private water sector by officially taking control of the 25-year Ecosama concession at the beginning of January. Ecosama (Empresa Concessionária de Saneamento de Mauá) runs water and sewage services for Mauá (population 360,000) on São Paulo City’s southern industrial fringe.
