AIN’T DEAD YET

* GWI’s final analysis of the performance of listed water stocks in 2007 (see pp8-15) suggests a fourth consecutive year of outperformance versus the main stock market indices.

It suggests the sector is still telling a strong story overall, but the details reveal a different story. US water stocks generally went south, while the smart money headed east. The biggest gains were in Asia (which was up by an average of 98%), although Europe, fuelled by takeover activity, also rose.
