The Spanish government is spurning desalination by showing support for two major water transfer schemes. Is it anything more than a political firework display?
Spain’s Socialist government appears to be abandoning its previous opposition to large-scale hydraulic infrastructure projects, and is considering the viability of two major new water transfers in its efforts to sidestep long-standing territorial disputes over access to water resources.
