The consultants appointed to oversee the sale of Saudi Arabia’s major power and water facilities are under pressure to announce the sale of the Yanbu production centre in the first quarter of next year.
The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (the bulk water supplier in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) has proposed selling the three existing plants at Yanbu as a brownfield independent water and power project (IWPP), with the buyer also agreeing to build an additional 400,000m3/d of desalination capacity and 1500MW of power.
