* Befesa has closed the financing of its 200,000m3/d Ténès desalination plant in Algeria.
80% of the USD231 million cost of the project will be financed by a debt package provided by a syndicate of local banks headed by Crédit Populaire d’Algérie. Hyflux’s 500,000m3/d Mactaa project is awaiting close (see Desal Tracker p35).
