Democrat or Republican – America’s incoming president will not be allowed to ignore the US infrastructure crisis. This is the message being put across by a new non-partisan coalition, as Kathy Shandling finds out.
On 19 January, the governors of California and Pennsylvania and the mayor of New York City announced the creation of a new coalition which will focus on infrastructure investment. The non-partisan body, “Building America’s Future”, will seek to encourage local government grass-roots initiatives to improve the way in which funding resources for infrastructure are identified and implemented.
