Rishon cancels BOO tender

The local water company in the Israeli municipality is evaluating its options after the sole bid for its new desal plant was far higher than expected.

The municipality of Rishon Le-Zion has cancelled the international tender for the BOO project to construct Israel’s first municipal desalination project. Meniv Technologies Ltd., the municipal company that handled the tender, decided to cancel it after the sole bid from the consortium of Veolia Environnement and Mekorot was deemed too expensive.
