Agbar reports boost in profits

Aguas de Barcelona’s profits rose 6% in 2007. Analysts’ demands for a clear strategy statement could be satisfied following changes at the board level.

The Agbar group’s after-tax profits rose 6% in 2007 to €147 million on revenues of €2.86 billion (up 10.9%), the company reported on 15 February. The profit figure excludes €217 million accruing to the company from the sale of its certification subsidiary Applus in July.
