Drugs in the water

A new report finds that US municipal water supplies and the aquifers that feed them are contaminated with pharmaceuticals. Kathy Shandling reports.

A major new study has shown that drinking water supplies in a number of major metropolitan areas in the Unites States contain alarm- ing quantities of pharmaceutical residues. According to the investigative report by the Associated Press, 24 major metropolitan areas, representing about 41 million people from California to New Jersey, are currently impacted by contaminated drinking water supplies.
