A stunning low bid for the 500,000m3/d Mactaa desalination plant in Algeria has put Hyflux on the brink of big-time success. It should go a long way towards silencing Hyflux’s critics.

Hyflux’s low bid at Mactaa puts the Singaporean company in line to build the world’s largest membrane desalination plant with a capacity of 500,000m3/d. With the ten-day bid review still ongoing, Hyflux deputy CEO Sam Ong is cautiously optimistic. He acknowledges that it will raise Hyflux to a whole new level.
