Madrid says no to Catalan transfer

Spanish Socialists have been accused of double standards over a new water transfer plan to address Barcelona’s growing crisis.

Spain’s newly re-elected Socialist (PSOE) government in Madrid has vetoed plans by the PSOE-led Catalan autonomous government to implement a 129,000m3/d water transfer scheme to prevent Barcelona running out of water if drought conditions persist until September.
