Damascus on the road to wastewater DBOs

Syria has started the pre-qualification process for a series of wastewater DBOs. The EIB is providing 50% of the financing under the Euro-Med Mandate scheme.

Syria’s Ministry of Housing and Construction initiated a pre-qualification process on 26 May for four wastewater treatment plants as part of the Damascus Rural Water and Sanitation Project. The scheme covers the upgrade of both water and wastewater infrastructure in 14 municipalities located south of Damascus, with a total population of around 200,000.
