Mekorot is licking its wounds after a Tel Aviv court ruled in favour of re-tendering the Ashdod desal plant. The company may be down, but it is not out.
The Tel Aviv District Court has ordered Mekorot to prepare a new tender for the planned 274,000m3/d desalination plant at Ashdod. The court ruling followed an appeal by IDE Technologies against allowing the project to proceed without a new tender, as the proposed plant has changed dramatically in scale since it was first mooted.
