It is not just Veolia and Suez who are smarting from contract reversions. Gelsenwasser wants a good price for its assets after a trio of German towns voted not to renew their water supply concessions.
Gelsenwasser may have clinched contract extensions with a number of German towns over the past twelve months, but recent developments have shown that it cannot rest on its laurels. Three municipalities have taken the rare opportunity to give notice on concession contracts with Gelsenwasser and hand responsibility for water supply over to their own joint municipal utility.
