The new bulk water supply regime in Queensland has not diminished the state’s appetite for working with the private sector. Water Commissioner Elizabeth Nosworthy talks to GWI about the way forward.
With effect from 1st July 2008, new institutional arrangements initiated by the Queensland Water Commission (QWC) came into force to align the ownership and control of water assets. The Queensland Government will hence- forth have control of the water and assets to ensure water supply security in one of the fastest growing regions in Australia.
