Water reuse in Spain is set to receive a boost under a new national initiative. Lower energy consumption makes it an attractive alternative to increasing desalination capacity.
The Spanish government is to launch a national plan to triple the current level of wastewater reuse in the country by 2015, Environment and Agriculture Minister Elena Espinosa told a conference marking the end of the water-themed International Expo 2008 in Zaragoza.
