New online hub for the desal community: Desalination.com
7 February 2012, Oxford UK -
A new website for the desalination community is launched this week by Global Water Intelligence (GWI)*. Already the leading provider of business data for the global water industry via www.globalwaterintel.com and www.desaldata.com, GWI presents this new internet site, www.desalination.com as the place where everything desal comes together.
GWI’s new website, designed for the desalination community worldwide, allows free access to a range of desal information, providing interest for all desal professionals at whatever stage of their career. Whether involved with business development, design & construction or operations & management, all members of the global desalination community will enjoy this new online facility.
For all students, enthusiasts and veterans of the desal industry the Museum section is highly appealing. It provides an historical perspective; the Hall of Fame features key players, from Jim Stewart to GG Pique, detailing their lifetime achievements, and there’s also a time-line, highlighting key dates and turning points in desal development.
The Technologies section is equally enlightening, cleverly illustrating the different parts and components of a desal plant and hyper-linking these to groups of relevant suppliers. Over 25 technologies are included and a brief synopsis of the supplying companies is offered along with contact details and links to their web pages.
Those involved with HR should note that Desalination.com also carries advertising for Jobs within the industry, providing a cost-effective shop window in which to display vacant positions and directly target industry candidates. Those hunting for jobs at all levels, including new entrants, will be able to make contact with the relevant companies directly through this site.
Part of this desal community site is for subscribers to the Water Desalination Report (WDR), GWI’s excellent weekly email service. Currently edited by Tom Pankratz, WDR is in its 48th year and claims over 3,500 regular weekly readers. Desalination.com is a new home for the WDR report (the url has been transferred) so existing and new subscribers to WDR can now benefit from the additional information available within this new website location.
Other useful areas within Desalination.com include:
- Concise introduction and overview to the industry via the Market Data section, which presents in graphic format how much desalination is going on worldwide, where the water is being used and also a breakdown of market share by technology and company
- Linked list of water industry conferences and seminars around the world
- Links to Desal training courses
- Links to dedicated desalination organizations and institutes
- A useful desal glossary
- Links to the latest market reports and other related sites
Desalination.com is the desal community website from the publishers of DesalData.com.
