Overview
Pinsent Masons Water Yearbook is an essential guide to the water industry published by Pinsent Masons, a leading infrastructure law firm. It is widely regarded as a useful reference resource for the international water industry, and offers a unique review of the dramatic changes that have affected both companies operating in the sector and its investment climate.
The Yearbook is published on a 2-year cycle. This 11th Edition essentially covers Europe, Middle East and Africa. The 10th Edition (2008/2009) covers the North American Continent, the South American Continent, and Asia Pacific. The two year combined cycle Yearbook reviews in total 157 companies.
Each year's edition is divided into three main parts as follows:
Part 1 is an overview of the world of water describing from a global perspective developments over the recent past and looking ahead to trends that are likely to occur in the future.
Part 2 is a country by country economic, social and commercial analysis of the water situation in that country. 71 countries are covered.
Part 3 is itself divided into three parts namely:
(i) Company Analysis: Major Players;
(ii) Company Analysis: Local/Regional Players; and
(iii) Company Analysis: Local/Regional Players/New Entries.
A total of 63 companies are covered.
The Yearbook contains a number of Appendices on such matters as The Water Cycle and Water Services; Private Sector Participation; and The Private Sector and the Millennium Development Goals together with a glossary of terms and abbreviations.
