Elections prompt Philippines PPP boom

The pool of companies looking to break into municipal water PPPs in the Philippines is growing at a rapid rate as cities attempt to rush through water projects ahead of next year’s elections.

Local governments and water districts in Iloilo, Bohol, Davao Del Norte, and Leyte provinces in the Philippines are gearing up to tender water supply PPP projects this year, as officials rush to complete projects before a temporary suspension on new contracts comes into force three months before national elections in 2016.
