Fluence solidifies China presence in multi-WWTP deal

Decentralised water treatment specialist Fluence has stepped up its presence in China’s growing rural wastewater market with its second order this month – and its largest in the country to date.
The ASX-listed company announced today that it will deliver six containerised C-MABR wastewater treatment plants to Guizhou Province as part of a PPP contract secured by partner Jiangsu Jinzi, which started piloting Fluence’s technology last November.
The plants’ capacities range from 600 to 1,000m3/d and are expected to begin operations during 2018. Fluence’s several strategic partnerships in China are beginning to bear fruit as it benefits from the investment pouring into the rural wastewater sector. China’s government wants to increase rural wastewater treatment coverage from 10% to 70% by 2030.
Earlier this month, Fluence secured its first commercial C-MABR order with Qingshuiyuan Environmental in Henan Province.
Fluence shares closed 9% up today at A$0.60 following the announcement.
