Oxford Flow to ramp up growth after funding round

Valve manufacturer Oxford Flow has raised £6.1 million of fresh equity at a post-money valuation of £21 million as it seeks to boost product development and expand its global business development team.

The company, which was spun out of Oxford University in 2015, has already achieved impressive commercial traction in the UK with its unique line of pressure-regulating valves for potable water systems. The fact that they are manufactured from a polymer-based material makes them smaller and dramatically lighter than conventional PRVs, which helps lower both installation and operating costs for end customers.

Going forward, CEO Neil Poxon told GWI that the company wants to accelerate the certification process for its stainless steel valve for oil and gas applications in order to broaden the product’s commercial appeal, and hinted that acquisitions could also be on the cards as the company looks to diversify its product portfolio further.
